Today, Juan Cabrera (a student in Mrs. Liss' class) heard from Adat Ari El Day School. They sent us $72.00!!!!! The school is a Jewish school located in Los Angeles. This is what they wrote.
"Dear Juan:
I received your letter today regarding all the bandages you are collecting. I also watched your You-Tube videos and was very touched. All of us at Adat Ari El School (a Jewish school in Los Angeles county) were very moved and wanted to show our appreciation to you for keeping the story of the Holocaust survive so, no one will ever forget what happened to 6,000,000 Jews, plus thousands of Christians, Poles, Gypsies, etc.
I'm not sure if you are aware that the number 18 is very meaningful in our Jewish lives. Each number in the Hebrew alphabet has a number that corresponds to it. For example, the letter Aleph (A) is one, Bet (B) is two. 18 represents Chai, or life in English (did you ever hear the song from Fiddler on the Roof "To life, to life, La Chaim") Well, the students and staff at our school have sent you life times four $72.00."
B' shalom (in peace)
